Job Description

Are you interested in seasonal and part-time employment; up to 20 hours per week? Are you responsible and looking to join a dynamic nonprofit organization and help deliver fun recreational tennis programs to kids, teens, and youth in local schools? Do you enjoy on-court training and mentorship? The United States Tennis Association-Pacific Northwest Section is hiring!


What You’ll Be Doing

Leading Programs:

  • Create and encourage a welcoming, safe and fun learning environment for all of the participants at variety of programs
  • Ensure equipment set-up and tear down
  • Check attendance roll for each session
  • Provide direction to instructors/students
  • Serve as a point person at location
  • Stay at site until all participants have been picked up


Coaching and Mentoring On-Site:

  • Provide instruction/leadership
  • Implement curriculum and provide on-going coaching and mentorship to assigned areas
  • Support Regional Manager with grass-roots marketing, equipment transfers, and other tasks as assigned
  • Provide real-time feedback to on-court teaching staff to ensure high levels of quality and consistency between programs
  • Communicate on-court challenges to Regional Manager and problem solve for solutions


Qualifications and Experience Required

  • 3+ years of Tennis Coaching Experience
  • Desire to mentor and lead a team of diverse tennis and education backgrounds
  • Desire to work with instructors and Site Directors, and to be a positive role model
  • Strong communication and customer relations skills
  • Ability to collaborate with/and lead others
  • Ability to facilitate programs and people
  • Must have the ability to work evening programs (vary per location)
  • Must pass a full background check
  • May be required to transport equipment in personal vehicle


Travel Demands

Travel across assigned area to promote and develop programs, attend various events, meetings, trainings throughout area. 


Work Environment

This job operates on-court in indoor/outdoor conditions.  Some prep/office work may be required that can be performed at home office.

  • The ability to work in extreme weather and indoor/outdoor conditions
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 40 pounds
