Job Description

The Pacific Northwest Section of the US Tennis Association (USTA PNW) is a 501(c)3 not-for profit organization looking for temporary Tournament Associates for the 2019 USTA League Section Championships in Sunriver, Oregon. The tournament dates are:

  • July 19 to 21, 2019
  • September 12 to 15, 2019


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee tournament desk
  • Oversee court assignments utilizing posted tournament schedule
  • Maintain cleanliness of tournament site
  • Answer any general tournament questions
  • Monitor allotted time for warm-ups and change overs during matches
  • Contact Head Referee or Tournament Director as needed
  • Inform Tournament Desk of open courts
  • Assist with score keeping as requested on courts
  • Responsive to Tournament Director needs
  • Ensure equipment set-up and take-down
  • Assist in pre-event tasks as assigned
  • Take clear photographs of scorecards and text the image to a designated USTA/PNW staff member


Qualifications and Experience Desired

  • Desire to work with adults in a competitive tennis setting
  • Strong communication and customer relations skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and processes
  • Ability to facilitate people
  • Must pass a full background check
  • Must have and use a cellular phone device with camera and texting capability
  • Must have access to a vehicle/transportation in case of venue or assignment change




  • Work closely with designated USTA/PNW Tournament Director and other tournament desk staff


  • Work closely with the players and spectators


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to lift and carry awkward objects (may include water containers, bags of ice, etc.)
  • Work may be conducted outside in the elements (which may include high temperatures, rain, direct sunlight, or other outdoor conditions)
